Even a newcomer has a business meeting with the president of a business partner.
Responsibility is heavy, but also very rewarding

If one part is missing, the automobile is not complete
I have always loved automobiles and wanted to work in the automotive industry in some way.
The main reasons I decided to work for Tachi-S were that I could be involved in car models before they were released to the public, and I thought that a parts manufacturer would allow me to enhance my expertise.
A single automobile uses tens of thousands of parts, and if even one of these parts is missing, the car is not complete, so I became interested in procurement work related to parts supply.
As a new graduate, I was assigned to the Purchasing Department as I had hoped, and is now in my fourth year. Involved in procurement of metal components such as fastening parts, HR STAY, wire processing, springs, etc.
The work includes proposals for new orders, price negotiations, handling supply issues, and risk management for suppliers.
Negotiating with existing clients is a major part of my job, but sometimes I also propose new clients to my supervisor or deal with vendors who come to me for a sale.
Procurement is the link between the company and the outside world
In our business, we are sometimes required to actively reduce costs, and we sometimes suggest to our suppliers, "If we eliminate this work process, we can reduce costs even more." Sometimes, we make proposals to our suppliers, saying, "If we eliminate these work processes, we can reduce costs.
In this way, the suppliers were pleased that the complicated process was eliminated and management became easier, and Tachi-S was also able to reduce costs, resulting in a win-win relationship for both parties.
We often make proposals that go into work processes and specifications, and require knowledge of various aspects of development, design, and manufacturing.
We also consider the financial situation of our business partners and other corporate strengths when negotiating with them, and work together with them to find ways to improve the efficiency of their work processes.
In other words, the Purchasing Department is the link between the company and the outside world.
Sometimes negotiations do not go as smoothly as I would like, and I sometimes feel difficulties, but when I receive cooperation from a client, I feel that I have built a relationship of trust with them, and I get a sense that I am growing as a person, which is very rewarding.
Maternity leave upon the birth of a child
In procurement work, we are the "buyer" and our suppliers are the "sellers.
But when negotiating with business partners, I try to have a flat relationship with them without being conscious of hierarchical relationships. And we will always respond speedily to requests requested by our business partners.
I believe this is the basis of communication in any situation, and I feel that by doing so, mutual trust will be strengthened.
Currently, I am actively using the telecommuting system, dropping my children off at daycare and taking charge of evening bath duty.
When my child was born, I also took two weeks of maternity leave.
There are many father employees around me who are working hard to raise their children, so I appreciate the ease with which they can take advantage of such systems.
How to spend the holidays
On long vacations, I may take a couple of weeks off, plus paid vacations. Procurement is a job that depends on suppliers, so it can get unexpectedly busy, but I think I am able to keep my motivation high by keeping work life balance.
Message to applicants for employment
The perfect environment for those who want to enrich both their work and private lives.
I would like to encourage those who are interested in the automotive industry and those who want to pursue one thing to the fullest to give it a try.
