Accumulating experience one by one
to meet customer expectations

Product Design Section, Product Development Dept.
Joined the company in 2022
M.K.

The deciding factor for joining the company was that it is a global company with a base in my home country.

I studied Japanese in my home country of Malaysia and transferred to a Japanese university.
During my university days, I enrolled in the Department of Power and Mechanical Engineering, and then went on to graduate school.
After that I joined Tachi-S and am currently in my second year.
I decided to join the company because I have loved automobiles since I was a child and was particularly interested in Japanese automobiles.
I decided to join Tachi-S because I wanted to create a completely new seat that had never existed before, especially since the seat is an important element that determines the ride quality of a car.
Tachi-S also has offices around the world, including in Malaysia, and I wanted to be able to connect with my home country in my work.
I was assigned to the Product Development Department as a new graduate and am currently involved in performance forecasting and component layout studies for the vehicle models I am in charge of.

Higher performance at a lower price

Designers work in teams, and the car model I am in charge of is one team of four employees and a section manager.
I am the youngest among them, and although I am still limited in the tasks I can take on, I consult with my seniors and supervisors when I have a problem and try to solve it.
The most important aspect of my work is time management. If we fail to meet deadlines, we will lose the trust of our clients and also lose credibility within the company.
As a designer, I am learning every day to make things faster, with higher performance, and at a lower cost.

The image of "Japanese companies have a lot of overtime work" has been overturned.

Tachi-S has a very good working environment.
I also actively utilize the flex system and time off system.
Before I joined the company, I had an image that Japanese companies were busy and required a lot of overtime work, but in reality, this is not the case.
I can manage the way I work on my own, and I think this is the perfect environment for those who want to control their own work style.

Message to applicants for employment

Message to applicants for employment
I have studied engineering since high school, but looking at the employees around me, there are many who do not have such experience and learned through on-the-job training after joining the company.
The company has a strong internal training program, and I think it is a very good working environment for people who want to "try something new.
If you have studied engineering in high school or college, I believe that what you have studied so far will be useful when you join the company.
It may be a good idea to review the text or read it before joining the company.
