Manufacturing workers are the "heart" of the company.
Each and every one of us aims to improve our skills.

What is your reason for joining the company?

I.Y)I was interested in a job manufacturing machines regardless of cars.
I joined Tachi-S because the seat is one of the most visible parts of the car and is an important part that even non-licensed drivers are involved with.
I thought that a job involved in its manufacture would be very rewarding.

A.R)I have always loved cars and was often in the driver's seat of my family's car before I got my driver's license.
It was interesting to see how the comfort of the seats differed from car to car, and I began to think that I would like to be involved in the business of making seats.

What is your current job?

I.Y)I have been with the company for 19 years.
At first, I was assigned to the welding section, where I worked for 14 years, and for the past five years I have been in charge of the team leader in the same process.
This year I am in charge of leading improvement activities.
The main thing we do is to eliminate waste in the process.
For example, we are reviewing and improving our system by incorporating task management using the "Kanban method" to avoid holding excess inventory.

A.R)I have been with the company for 14 years.
I joined the company and experienced FRM (Fiber Reinforced Metal) for one manufacturer.
I was then transferred to the Equipment Management Department, but decided that the field was a better fit for me, so I consulted with my supervisor and am now the FRM team leader.
There are 24 members in the group.
We set hourly volume quotas and work hard to improve our operations so that we can all achieve them.

Creating a workplace where workers steadily improve their skills and feel a sense of job satisfaction

When do you find it rewarding?

I.Y)When I work on something I have never worked on before or the company itself is trying to do for the first time.
It is exciting, for example, when I consider new ways to replenish parts and what technology is needed to incorporate them.
In fact, I am happy when we receive comments from workers on site that their work efficiency has improved after the introduction of the new system.

A.R)I find it rewarding when I receive feedback on parts I have manufactured, such as "this part breaks easily" or "this part doesn't work well," and then I consult with the shop floor to make improvements.
I think the interesting thing about this job is that you get to experience how manufacturing progresses with the field playing a central role.

What do you keep in mind in your work?

I.Y) In order to make the people on site feel good about their work, we want to improve the tasks that the workers find difficult to do and the things they don't What we do for this purpose is to interview the workers. We are also actively involved in observing the work and finding areas for improvement.
like about their jobs, even if only a little.

A.R)We try to assign tasks to ensure that workers can improve their skills.
For example, you can have newcomers and veterans work together, or plan a work plan that allows for step-by-step mastery.
Recently, there are more and more foreign workers, and sometimes miscommunication occurs, but we ask foreign workers who understand Japanese to interpret for us, and we try to keep communication as close as possible.

A full range of on- and off-duty programs, such as time off in units of hours and a special leave system.

How to spend the holidays

I.Y) I take my children and go fishing with company members, play games, and spend time relaxing.
Unlike other departments, manufacturing work basically requires coming to work, but we also have an hourly leave system, which I actively use to pick up and drop off my children.

A.R) I like plants, so I spend a lot of time at home taking care of houseplants.
We also sometimes go out with our children to refresh ourselves.
In addition, I also take paid vacations for children's events and other family services, and enjoy small trips by using Mondays and Fridays as paid vacations for three consecutive days.

Message to applicants for employment

I.Y)What is more important than knowledge about cars or work experience is a positive attitude to challenge anything.
I would like people who can take on challenges for the first time to join our group.

A.R)I agree with you, and I think that having energetic and positive people in the company will make the company more vibrant and provide a good stimulus to existing employees.
Those who are proactive, such as proposing improvements on their own, are encouraged to take on new challenges!
