Human Resources

Progressing toward becoming a global company

Human Capital Development Section, Human Capital Development and Promotion Department
joined the company in 2018
Z.J. (Section Manager)

From China base to head office for career advancement

Previously, I was hired locally at Tachi-S's China location and worked there for 10 years.
I wanted to transfer to the Japan headquarters, based on both my personal desire to raise my children in Japan and my desire as a member of society to advance my own career.
After transferring to this position, I have mainly been active in global human resources education management and activities to spread the global human resources philosophy.
Since 2023, I have held the position of Section Manager of the Human Capital Development Section, where I am active in non-regular employment in Japan, human resources training planning and management, HR system improvement, and the study and introduction of new HR systems.
What I feel now that I work at the head office is that I am required to have a holistic and optimal viewpoint.
As a global company, TACHI-S is required to have a diverse organization and to provide a stage where anyone can play an active role regardless of gender, age, preference, disability, or nationality. In this context, it is necessary to go beyond the framework of "human resources" and develop a human resources strategy that is linked to management strategy in order to optimize the entire company.
In order to acquire a holistic and optimal perspective, I continue to make daily efforts by participating in educational programs for global human resource development, attending seminars with external managers, and actively engaging in dialogue with management within the company.

Listen carefully to employees and consider a more practical HR system

Human Resources is the department that considers human resource strategies across the entire company.
For example, "What can we do to improve employee productivity?" How can we support our employees in realizing their career visions?" and other issues, we listen directly to the opinions of our employees while creating opportunities for them to have conversations with us, and consider measures to make the company a better place to work.
Most recently, the company introduced an internal recruitment and FA system with the aim of supporting employees' career development for self-realization.
However, these systems do not work just by introducing them; they are meaningless unless they are utilized by employees, so we are striving to reform the systems for the better by holding company-wide explanatory meetings and conducting interviews with some employees to provide feedback to the systems.
Sometimes we receive harsh comments such as, "This system is useless," but it is natural that each person has different opinions and values.
If We take a deeper look at what is "behind" the dissatisfaction and what the employees really want to complain about, We can create a better system. While there are harsh opinions, there are also comments such as "I like this system" and "You have given it a lot of thought," which encourages me and makes it worthwhile for me.

Aiming to be a Diverse Global Company

Currently, with the support of my section members, I am able to balance work and childcare while working shorter hours. On average, the company comes to work twice a week and teleworks the rest of the time.
Many female employees are working hard while raising children, the number of female managers is increasing, and the percentage of male employees taking maternity leave is also rising.
As human resources and as Tachi-S, we believe that ease of work leads to job satisfaction, and we are striving to develop a system that allows flexible work styles, and we feel that we are making steady progress in reforming work styles within the company.

Message to applicants for employment

As the shortage of human resources becomes more serious, we are striving to create an environment where anyone can work comfortably and play an active role regardless of gender, age, or disability, as well as hiring non-Japanese such as myself.
We realize the appeal of Tachi-S's "easy communication regardless of age or nationality" and "caring and helping each other" and look forward to meeting people who value these qualities.
