Career change from consulting to sales

Reasons for choosing this company

My last job was in consultancy and I worked in Thailand for 9 years.
Many Japanese automobile manufacturers have established operations in Thailand, and there are many companies that manufacture parts on an OEM basis.
As I supported people who were working hard at Japanese companies, I began to think, "I would like to stand on the manufacturer's side and take on challenges together with them," and I changed my job to Tachi-S.

Current Responsibilities

I was assigned to a sales position. Although sales and consulting may seem like completely different professions, they actually have many similarities, and require a statistical perspective, such as "How much revenue am I generating?" and "Am I improving production efficiency? In this respect, I now feel that I am making good use of my experience in my previous job.
Nevertheless, the automotive industry has some strong idiosyncrasies. It has its own commercial distribution and requires a good understanding of the product. Therefore, I deepened my knowledge in this area during my post-employment training and also visited supplier factories several times to acquire the product understanding necessary for a sales position.

The important thing is to always be willing to keep learning

What we value in our work

I am currently working for a major automobile manufacturer on one of their vehicle models.
We visit customers to conduct business negotiations, hold hearings regarding seat specifications, and coordinate development and production schedules.
What I value as a sales person is integrity.
I feel that by instantly understanding what our clients are looking for and providing accurate and prompt answers, we can foster mutual trust and build a good partnership.
What is needed for this is an attitude of constant learning. I try to make proposals while thinking ahead a little, "Isn't this what the customer wants?"

Various ways of working

Internal as well as external communication is important.
Many employees now work from home after the COVID-19 infection, and the company encourages a variety of work styles.
I am the type of person who likes to work while experiencing the atmosphere of the workplace firsthand, so I come to the office as much as possible, but I also frequently hold online meetings and conferences with my home-based members to share information.

How to spend the holidays

I have been with the company for a little over a year. Although there are still many aspects that I do not understand, I feel satisfied with the large amount of discretion that is entrusted to each individual and the respect for the will of the employees from the way they work to the way they do their jobs. I once applied for a one-week work vacation to come to the Thai subsidiary, and my colleagues in the same department are also working hard and enjoying their private time.
Some employees use long weekends to compete in sports tournaments, while others spend a week each month on a work vacation at their parents' home in Kyushu.
Women in particular often undergo significant changes due to life events, so I really like the work environment that allows each individual to choose the best way to work.

Message to applicants for employment

Currently, Tachi-S is truly in a transitional period. I feel that the company is evolving rapidly, actively hiring people from various backgrounds mid-career, and improving the working environment.
I would like to ride this wave of change and develop myself as a sales person so that I can be someone that customers can rely on.
We would be happy to have someone with the same strong desire to grow join our group.
