Experiments

Every single bolt is thoroughly evaluated.
Safety performance must never be compromised.

CAE Validation Section, Prototype and Testing Department.
Joined the company in 2011
Y.T. (Chief)

I participated in a student formula race. I've loved cars since I was a kid.

My love of cars led me to participate in student formula racing when I was in college.
I learned the joy of manufacturing.
For my thesis, I studied "pedestrian head protection performance of engine hoods".
I wanted to be involved in the automotive industry after graduation, and I chose this industry because the seat is the part that comes into most contact with people, and it is an important part that requires collision safety.
I have been with the CAE Evaluation Section for 12 years since I joined the company, conducting virtual experiments on the computer to evaluate safety performance. Three and a half of those years were spent in Vietnam.
Safety is important for seats, but there are many other features that are required.
Therefore, I find it rewarding to work together to create a single product while discussing with other teams and considering the functions and performance that should be implemented.

Expanding the independence of our Vietnam base" was our mission.

80% of CAE operations are resourced and promoted in Vietnam.
Therefore, when I was posted to Vietnam, I was in charge of organizing 30 Vietnamese staff members and working to expand the company into an even larger CAE center.
Vietnam has a different culture from Japan and a different way of thinking about labor.
Therefore, it was very difficult to get the Vietnamese staff to understand the Japanese way of working. However, as I guided and trained them with a passion for creating this kind of organization, they gradually began to understand me, and by the end of my assignment, they had become independent to the point where they could produce the same quality of results as in Japan.
Even today, English is a must, as we often have online meetings with our overseas offices. All emails are also in English.
There are many technical terms, and to be honest, it is challenging to do everything in English, but I am confident that my English and communication skills have improved through my overseas assignments.

Proceeding with operational improvements to raise the level of all team members

Currently, as the chief, I am responsible for the overall management of the project.
The fun part of this job is that we can thoroughly evaluate every single bolt, but on the other hand, it is meaningless if everyone in the team does not perform their duties at the same level.
For this reason, we are reviewing the analysis settings and evaluation process, and are improving our operations so that the same results are obtained no matter who evaluates.
No compromises are allowed in safety performance.
Despite these difficulties, nothing can compare to the feeling of knowing that the seats we were involved in developing are installed in cars all over the world, and that we are providing safety, security, and comfort to all people who sit in those seats.

How to spend the holidays

As much detail work is required at work, I relieves stress by training on my road bike every morning.
On weekends, I also spend time with my family, playing at the park with my children.

Message to applicants for employment

先I recently took maternity leave when my second child was born. Male employees can also easily take advantage of such programs, making it a perfect work environment for those looking for a way of working that fits their lifestyle.
